When can I get started?
You are considering investing in a SheFitt run program but you’re not quite sure if you’re ready to start. I get it.
As busy women, we often find ourselves thinking, it’s never a good time, but it’s never a bad time! Life may feel quite full, but your health is important. Finding time for you is critical for your physical and mental health & for your ability to keep achieving as a person, partner, possibly mother, employee.
So if you’re asking why now, then I ask you, why not now?
The weather will never be perfect, the time of day won’t always be just right, but if not now, then when?
So! If you can walk comfortably for 60 minutes without pain or limitation, you are ready to get started with your SheFitt run program.
Being physically healthy is important, and being functionally ready to run is critical. Which is why, it is strongly recommended that you visit a pelvic health physiotherapist to have your pelvic floor assessed before you commence. Mention to your pelvic health physio that you are embarking on a running program so that they can prescribe the appropriate and necessary exercises for you, to promote pelvic health before and whilst you are running.
If you’re healthy (no sickness,) uninjured, you’ve passed the walk test (60 minutes, as above) and you’ve got the ‘all clear’ from a physio, then you’re good to go.
If an injury or niggle is holding you back, causing changes to your day-to-day function or making activities of daily living difficult, then it’s important to have it assessed and treated first. A physiotherapist, osteopath, podiatrist or your GP are great places to start for this.
Come back when you are walking pain free for 60 minutes. SheFitt will be waiting for you.
